Since the first model, which was released for sale in 1977 as the finest luxury car of BMW, 7 series has had a strong character as a driver's car compared to Mercedes S-class. The current model is its 3rd generation model. Although its 1st generation adopted 6 cylinder engine, now it mainly adopts V8 engine after 1997. In May 1997, L7 model, which has limousine specifications with 3320mm stretched wheel base, was added onto the line-up. Although it is a long selling vehicle, continuous improvements have been taking place every year.
