  In September 2005, Toyota Corolla Spacio was slightly improved. Some new features were added, such as cars with discharge headlights were fitted with an auto-leveling system and cars with halogen headlamps were fitted with manual leveling mechanism.
  In addition, White Pearl Crystal Shine color was added as an optional exterior color.

  In the minor changes that took place in April 2003, all grades of Toyota Corolla Spacio, except for Corolla Spacio X, allowed new equipment, such as a back guide monitor, a blind corner monitor enabling to display either side of the front of the vehicle in case of poor visibility, navigation system compatible with information network service "G-BOOK", to be added optional.
  All grades meet fuel efficiency standard of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of Japan.

  The first generation of Toyota Corolla Spacio was released in January 1997. It was developed based on its predecessor Toyota Corolla but arranged to a minivan with more high and long body than Toyota Corolla Sedan.
  The interior of Corolla Spacio can be chosen from 2 types: 2-row seat type for 4-passengers and 3-row seat type for 6-passengers. One feature of Toyota Corolla Spacio is the capability of various seat arrangements with removable second seat and rotating passenger seat.
  The second generation of Toyota Corolla Spacio was released in May 2001. The distance between the 1st and 2nd-row seats was extended, making indoor space compact but comfortable for 5 people. The collapsible second row seats were additionally provided with front-rear sliding and reclining functions and equipped with a center seat back, which also can be used as a wide armrest. The third row seats allow underfloor storage, that makes it possible to have 7 passengers at the same time.
  For the interior, Corolla Spacio adopts an instrument panel shift and foot-operated parking brake, making it possible for passengers to walk through the seats. Furthermore, the gap between the exterior and interior parts was reducing as much as possible, giving Corolla Spacio a sense of high quality.
  The engine of Corolla Spacio can be chosen from 2 types: 1.8 liters and 1.5 liters. All grades are equipped with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence VVT-i. Transmission is only 4-speed AT.

  Toyota Corolla Spacio was developed based on the present model of Corolla Sedan and released for sale in January 1997, as a multipurpose car with three rows of seats. It became the center of attention because its body length that was shorter than Corolla Sedan but still had high practicability of the cabin.
  It has no full model change after the release, but had a minor change in April 1999.
  In 2000, Corolla series celebrated 31years of the best-selling and announced Corolla Spacio White Pearl Limited (Special Edition car).
